Today was the dreaded Weigh in Wednesday and I gained back the .7 lbs I lost last week. Womp womp. Not an awesome feeling, but it'll make me work harder for next week.
Also, no one likes a Debbie Downer, unless you're one of those misery loves company types (I'm not a fan of people like that). So here's some GOOD stuff. Today I did Day 3 of my current workout and I upped my weight in EVERY single exercise!!
• Barbell squats: went from 40 to 60 lbs.
• Reverse Step Ups: went from 30 to 40 lbs.
• DB Sumo Squat: went from 30 to 40 lbs.
• Prone Leg Curl: went from 75 to 90 lbs.
• Leg Lifts: went from 105 to 120 lbs.
So I'm gonna account for that .7 I gained back being the extra muscles I'm making by lifting heavy things. That's gotta be it right? Right?!?! Either way, I won't be walking right tomorrow.
Find some positivity in what you'd typically consider to be a failure. You'll feel a hell of a lot better about yourself. And guess what, you're still trying.
And my success is gonna be fucking delicious. |
I'm also having a damn good hair day today, so there's that. It's the little things. What are yours?
By the way, word on the street is it's World Kindness Day. Be kind to someone! Dare you to make that someone be a stranger. Bonus points ;) And if you feel so inclined, post it here.
My little things for the day were playing "racing" with my boys and losing.
ReplyDeleteI need to lift heavy I am still in the single digit category.
I'm with ya, I had the best week in both diet and exercise last week and somehow gained 1.5lbs!? I was bitter and may have cursed aloud at the stupid scale. But I checked myself and scoped out some new definition that is popping.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up, you know you are working it!
Picture of your hair please!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I have never commented, but I think you are so funny. I especially loved your post about weekend sabotage eating...and drinking! The story of my life. AND, the .7 is totally muscle! --Becky
ReplyDeleteMy solution to feel better in an slump (like this week for me) is shoes...those bitches always fit! So I always wear a favorite when I'm down :)
ReplyDeleteI put on a favorite pair of shoes for a pick me up...those bitches always fit :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Becky...its a muscle gain!! I'd be super embarrassed if you seen my sad light dumbbells I use to work out with.. Apparently I need to step it up a notch and since I don't have a gym membership I'm going start bench pressing and squatting with my kids as my weights.. I'll start with the lightest and work my way up... And then we will see who's jealous of who's weight lifting ability!! lol
